Barack Obama’s supporters think he’s a remarkable man. But if what Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper revealed on Meet the Press yesterday is true, he’s even more astonishing than even his biggest fans believed. Why? Because as you can see in the video below, Hick said the U.S. economy had been shedding jobs during the first few months of Obama’s “pregnancy.”
The segment kicks off with host David Gregory asking Hickenlooper (joined by Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker) what will tip the scales toward Obama in Colorado.
“Well,” Hickenlooper replied, “I think if you look at the mess that President Obama inherited, and I mean losing 800,000 jobs a month, month after month, the first few months of his pregnancy….”
Whoever transcribed this comment apparently took mercy on Hickenlooper, because the word “presidency” appears in the read-along text that accompanies the video on the Meet the Press website. But to these ears, there’s zero doubt Hickenlooper said “pregnancy.”
