INDYINK’s Chris Huth says it’s a little bit scary to be presenting a show by local artist/designer Sam Turner, whose oft menacing pen and ink illustrations are cross-hatched together by a mish-mosh of skate deck and snowboard design, hardcore metal music and an aura of cycling anarchy, then tempered by the fleeting influence of classic hotrod art — plus some other stuff, most of it not too pretty. But I’d say that Huth is also as pleased as punch to be plastering his walls with Turner’s work, because tonight from 7 to 11 p.m., he’s hosting a scary party featuring “free libations, great art, beautiful people and crude conversation,” which will also be broadcast live of KGNU community radio, at 88.5 FM and/or 1390 AM. In addition, bring your bike: The significantly underground Loops Tour de Arté community ride will also be commencing from INDYINK at 7:30 p.m. for a First Friday spin to some of Denver’s other indy hotspots.

INDYINK is at 84 South Broadway; visit the website or call 720-937-9722 to learn more.
