Notes like this one are the backbone of nearly every shitty, irritating relationship forced upon us by the horrors of modern life. If it isn’t the roommate, it’s the neighbor, or the jackoff that works two cubicles down. Some of us leave them, some of us are the target of them and some of us just get a laugh out of reading the ones left by those other poor schlubs. Now, thanks to the wonders of the Internet, we can all enjoy the bitter sarcasm and faux-helpful spirit of these missives from the convenience of our own homes. Or, more likely, while we’re killing time at work. A helpful blog called Passive-Aggressive Notes from Roommates, Neighbors, Coworkers and Strangers (yeah, the name sucks) has arrived to document these staples of interpersonal communication.
Some of the entries there are genuinely funny, some more than a little creepy and some are simply bizarre. It’s definitely worth a look the next time you’re trying to kill a few minutes before checking your MySpace for new mail again, or if you need a little inspiration for your own snarky “suggestion” to the jerk down the street that thinks your lawn is a great place for his dogs to shit. – Cory Casciato
