This article is very misinformed. To deny that a lot of homelessness is due to substance abuse issues doesn’t do this population any favors. The fact that they use a survey asking homeless people why they are homeless as proof of this myth shows that this person doesn’t understand substance abuse and how those with a problem won’t admit it. These people need access to free treatment, not denial about their problem.
