We recently reported about Denver Post columnist and ESPN personality Woody Paige’s claim that Broncos QB Peyton Manning would retire by the end of the week.
This assertion was quickly denied by the Broncos, and the Post reportedly tweaked Paige’s original item, only to later return it to its previous condition.
In our headline, we asked if Paige’s piece qualified as a scoop or a screw-up — and most of those who weighed in either opted for the latter choice (even though Woody could be proven right in the coming days) or had negative things to say about the veteran provocateur.

Woody Paige is an idiot. His ignorant, self-serving presentations to the HOF voters in the past are the main reason that several more Broncos, including Gradishar, are not in the HOF.
