In a just-published GQ article, several comments from Brady Quinn seemed to rip Tim Tebow, stirring up the sort of Internet frenzy that we’ve come to associate with The Chosen One.
As a result, Quinn tried to do damage control on his Twitter account, offering an extended mea culpa that repeatedly burst through the typical tweet’s 140-character limit.
Among the comments attributed to Quinn were ones implying that he was passed over as a starter after Kyle Orton was benched due to Tebow’s popularity (“I didn’t have any billboards. That would have been nice”) and suggesting that the Broncos’ winning streak was a fluke (“We’ve had a lot of, I guess, luck, to put it simply”). The most controversial, though, portrays Timmy’s proclivity for Tebowing after touchdowns as showboating. The quote reads:
If you look at it as a whole, there’s a lot of things that just don’t seem very humble to me. When I get that opportunity, I’ll continue to lead not necessarily by trying to get in front of the camera and praying but by praying with my teammates, you know?

Has Tebow responded with any tweets of his own? Of course not. The most recent posts on his Twitter account involve his date for a recent Cartoon Network Hall of Games event.
No, it wasn’t Lindsey Vonn, Katharine McPhee or any of the other hotties with whom the tabloid press has tried to connect him. Instead, the femme in question was Presli Collins, a Denver nine-year-old diagnosed with a serious malady called Neurofibromatosis-1, as she notes on her Facebook page, Pray for Presli. Here’s a photo of the pair, as tweeted by Tebow.

By the way, the background photo of Quinn on his Twitter page dates back to his years at Notre Dame, which is smart. That means he won’t have to change it when he winds up on a different team next season — something that seems exceedingly likely despite his efforts to smooth over this latest controversy.
