A virtual supergroup, Down (due tonight at Summit Music Hall with In Solitude and Ponykiller) is spearheaded by none other than the fear-instilling voice of Phil Anselmo, of super heavy legends Pantera. But Down is a band all its own — the group has been making sludgy, devastating metal since it came together in New Orleans in the early ’90s.
Having recently toured Europe, the southern metal gods are taking September to finish out some U.S. dates before heading to South America in November. This show is all ages, and tickets are $25-28. Doors open at 7 p.m., and bands start at 8 p.m.
Also Going On Tonight: – Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. at the Hi-Dive – SuperCollider (every tuesday) at The Laughing Goat – Anna Lisa Hughes at Dazzle Restaurant and Bar
