If you’re available tonight around 8 p.m., Beta Nightclub (1909 Blake St) will be hosting the Red Bull Big Tune Beat Battle, a hip-hop producer head-to-head competition. The event, which is a premier national hip-hop event, will be hosted by well-renowned rapper/producers Exile and Black Milk.
Twelve Colorado and regional hip-hop producers will be battling head-to-head with their best beats in an effort to win a trip to Atlanta for the final beat battle and a chance to work with a national artist. Last year’s competition offered the winner a chance to produce a track for Common, The Game, Nas or Lupe Fiasco.
And if you think a bunch of amateurish producers will be competing, you’re wrong. Local stalwarts like the Pirate Signal, Boon Doc, DJ Psycho and a few other familiar names will be putting their beats up.
