Attention serious sax players: Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 8. You won’t want to miss Everything Sax. The folks from Jazz@Jack’s have organized a free day-long saxophone event of clinics, discussions, career opportunities and more. A number of noted professors, including John Gunther, Art Bouton and Peter Sommer, will be on hand for the event, as well as Roger Greenberg from Eastman Music Company and Tim Glesmann, from Windsor-based retail and repair shop Sax Alley.

James Divine, author of How to Make it in the Music Business, will be offering insight on how to get a career stared, as will Lamont School of Music’s Art Bouton, who recently gave a talk about career opportunities for saxophonists, who is also scheduled to speak on the subject. The saxophone section from the Falconaires, the Air Force Academy’s jazz ensemble, and Dotsero have both been tapped to perform, along with representatives from Denver School of the Arts, Smoky Hill High School, Palmer Hill High School and Falcon High School Here’s the tentative schedule.
