The Flobots are serious about their activism. I mean, how many other bands do you know that are opening up a community center to host everything from live shows to speakers and workshops to activist training? The center is kicking things off with an open house tonight, from 6 to 9 p.m. at 2705 Larimer Street. To open the Flobots.org community space and cultural center in style, the open house will feature live sets from Rob Drabkin and Serafin Sanchez; a chance to meet students from Live from DCH, a music therapy program created by Flobots.org; and info on what Flobots.org is and how to get involved. Plus food and a donation-based cash bar, of course. And after the official open house ends at 9, stick around for a set from Disco Noveau with Tyler Snow and crew. The night is presented in partnership with the Meadowlark, sponsored by Westword and it’s a great way to kick off Showcase. See you there!
