At Panorama Bar in Berlin, sunrise forms the perfect backdrop for Cassy’s warm, soulful DJ sets. Those early-morning workouts run the gamut from deep and tech-house to straight techno and minimal, and they’ve made Cassy famous within international dance-music circles. She relocated to Berlin after meeting Cadenza Records boss Luciano in Geneva in 2003, and quickly took up residency at the ultra-chic lounge, which sits atop Berlin’s infamous techno club, Berghain. As a producer, Cassy has worked with Steve Bug, Ricardo Villalobos, Mathew Jonson and Swayzak, as well as Luciano. Her tracks have found homes on such glossy labels as Perlon, Playhouse, Ostgut Ton and Cocoon — and on her own imprint, called, simply, Cassy. In addition to her gigs at Panorama, Cassy makes regular appearances at Rex Club in Paris and TrouwAmsterdam.
