Bobby Long takes over the Walnut Room with Ian Cooke for a night of swooning, heartthrobbing goodness. The English singer-songwriter had his first big break thanks to the Twilight soundtrack, but his rough and beautiful voice has shown Long to be more than just a pretty face. Saturday, The Still City calls it a night with a farwell show at the Hi-Dive. Sharing the stage with local friends Serious Moonlight and All Capitals, the evening will also serve as a celebration of the band’s latest and final EP release, Brittle Bones — which we previewed tracks from earlier this week. For a little bit of a heavier show tonight, catch God Is An Astronaut at the Larimer Lounge. The Ireland-based quartet create an experience more than a performance, employing carefully crafted visuals to accompany the band’s orchestrations of both synthetic sounds and traditional instrumentation. (8:30 p.m. doors, 21 & up, $10-13.)

Sunday, Richard Marx comes to Hudson Gardens for a nice, adult contemporary-minded evening under the stars. The romance sparker has been making records for over three decades, including last year’s Stories to Tell and Hits & Ballads, which is yet another collection of greatest hits from the songwriter. (6:30 p.m., all ages, $10-25.)
Finally on Sunday, Memphis May Fire brings its metalcore antics to the Marquis Theater with Victory Heights, Parallels and The Unrelenting. In support of its latest full-length Rise Records release, The Hollow, the Texas band recalls early Underoath while maintaining an interestingly melodic swing all its own.
