Lunch: The delicious scratch-made soups are the specialty at Spices Cafe, 1510 Humboldt Street, but today’s recession-buster lunch special — cheese enchiladas with beans and rice– for $3.95 — is nearly as good a deal as the early morning breakfast bargain, when $1.95 gets you two eggs, toast and hash browns.

Liquid: The “stimulus package” at The Lure Lounge, 1434 Blake Street, just got even more stimulating, now that the LoDo hot spot just extended its Thursday, Friday and Saturday happy hour from 5 to 8 p.m., an intoxicating three hours of bottomless imbibing for $15. Total. For as many happy hour drinks (wine, beer and well) as you can down.

Dinner: Get your noodle on at XO (1612 Wazee Street), the very modern, very urbanized noodle house in the Jet Hotel that’s currently offering two noodle bowls and a bottle of Gekkeikan Haiku sake for $29. Accompanying those noodle bowls is a cool condiment tray, which includes XO sauce, sambal and furikake.
