First up is Tortillas for Tepeyac, a tortilla-making contest in which twenty local leaders will test their skills in a benefit for Clinica Tepeyac. The event runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Stapleton Recreation Center, 5090 Broadway. Tickets to view the showdown are sold out, but you can still make donations at www.clinicatepeyac.org.
Lodo’s Bar & Grill, 1946 Market Street, hosts the Base Camp Bash, the Cottonwood Institute’s annual fundraiser, with appetizers, an auction, a snowboarding Wii competition and much more. It runs from 7 to 10 p.m. and admission is $30 to $35; visit www.cottonwoodinstitute.org.
At the Denver Art Museum, 100 West 14th Avenue Parkway, you can raise a glass at the annual DAM Uncorked fundraiser. Sample wines from around the world; tickets include general admission to the museum for the whole day. DAM Uncorked runs from 6 to 9 p.m. and costs $70 to $90 to taste, $35 for designated drivers, and you can pay an additional $35 to start sampling early at 5 p.m. Call 720-865-5000 or visit www.denverartmuseum.org.
