The Space Creators, a Denver-based real estate development and brokerage firm, has announced a new partnership with The Desk, a co-working cafe that opened last year in the space that once held Buffalo Exchange, at 230 East 13th Avenue.
“It’s great news,” says Desk owner Kristian Barowsky, who co-owns the spot with his wife, Mandy Stevens. “Their expertise in real estate is really going to help us with our expansion.”

The real estate firm — whose portfolio of creative spaces also includes 1045, Laundry on Lawrence, Walnut Workshop and Wazee Union — is now the majority owner of The Desk. The merger is part of a plan to develop the concept into a franchise of local cafe/working spaces, all of which would be included in the monthly membership fee.

Barowsky and Stevens also plan to add more to the table with an expanded menu featuring cafe fare made in-house — something the Desk doesn’t currently offer. And the beer and wine program will soon get a boost, with a focus on local craft beer (of course).
