Early this year Sushi Sasa, the wildly popular sushi joint at 2401 15th Street, took over the vacated Wilderness Exchange spot next door, with plans to double the size of the dining room, adding 70 seats to the original 62.
Now that space is finally — thankfully — open, a cavern of swanky tables that can be partitioned off for private events.
Don’t think that the extra square footage means you no longer need a reservation, though.
“We’re still filling up,” says Joey Oliver, general manager. “You may now be able to get in even if you don’t call at least two days in advance, but reservations are still strongly recommended.”

Tonight, for instance, every table for two has already been snapped up between the prime dining hours of 5:45 and 8:30 p.m.
It’s not surprising, though, that if you’re as good as Sasa and you build it, they will come.
