Back in October, we reported that Sugar Lips Mini Donuts, the turquoise mobile wagon that served up tiny fried treats all summer, had landed a lease on a Copper Mountain storefront and was anticipating a Thanksgiving week opening.
The shop didn’t make it, though, and it’s pushed back its opening date until Christmas.
“Dealing with building department in Summit County was more difficult than we anticipated,” says Jasmine Listou, Sugar Lips owner. “But we have four of the five approvals now, and we meet with the fire department tomorrow. The second we get that approval, we’ll start building.”
That construction will take about two weeks, which brings the opening date to Christmas — perfect timing for capturing the crowd of ski bunnies that will descend upon the mountain.
