Location changes often spell doom for restaurants, which can lose regular customers in the move — and not gain new ones. But Andrew Casalini and Jen Dactano, who owned Satchel’s Market, a place I’d liked when I reviewed it last year, were willing to take the risk when they left Park Hill after five years in favor of a spot on East Sixth Avenue.
After a major renovation of the space at 1710 East Sixth Avenue, they opened Satchel’s on 6th this past spring. Like Satchel’s Market, the new restaurant bills itself as a neighborhood, new American joint — albeit one in a very different neighborhood.
And that wasn’t the only change I found when I visited Satchel’s on 6th for this week’s review. I also returned to Satchel Market’s former spot at 5021 East 28th Avenue, which is now home to Pary’s on 28th.
Has the space switch paid off for these two restaurants? Find out tomorrow, when the reviews are posted here.
