The Hooters at 1390 South Colorado Boulevard — not just the first Hooters in Denver, but the first Hooters this side of the Mississippi — is closing on Friday.

The breastaurant moved into this former White Spot (not Village Inn — sorry, Steveville) space in 1989, and now the landlord wants to completely redo the property, so Hooters must go. The franchise owners are currently looking for another location in the metro area.

Ordinarily, I’d applaud this – except for the two Twin Peaks, one Tilted Kilt and probably one more Earl’s that will pop up across Denver in its place.
