Late on Christmas Eve, an altercation in the parking lot of Rack’em Billiards and Sports Bar in Aurora ended with one man fatally shot. The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as 35-year-old Damon Weyrough. He was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Now, police are looking for witnesses to the homicide — specifically, the occupants of a vehicle seen driving past the bar on East Jewell Avenue at 10:30 p.m. that night.

Investigators want to locate and speak with the occupants of the vehicle, according to a press release (on view below) from the Aurora police department. Anyone with information can call Agent Mark Yacano at 303-739-6090 or Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP. Tipsters can also send a text to 274637 (CRIMES), then use the title DMCS and enter your message. Tipsters may remain anonymous.

The Aurora police and Metro Denver Crime Stoppers are offering a reward of up to $4,000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspect or suspects.

A press release sent out on Christmas Day says police responded to Rack’em at 10:45 p.m. on December 24 to find an adult male — now identified as Weyrough — in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. They were told that an altercation that started in the parking lot had spilled out onto the street, and witnesses reported hearing several gunshots. The victim walked back to the parking lot, where he collapsed.
