This brick building near the intersection of Speer and Federal boulevards was most recently home to Veronica’s Bases Loaded. But that dive closed long ago.

Now it looks like the address could get new life.

A restaurant called Pizza Public has picked up the lease for the space, and there’s evidence that construction and remodeling are already under way. The owner has also applied for a tavern liquor license, which would enable the space to host live music.

That application goes before the city on February 13.
