There’s still plenty of construction going on in the old Bart’s CD Cellar space at 1015 Pearl Street in Boulder, but after nearly six months, Ozo Coffee Co. is close to finishing its new shop — which means it will soon start pouring drinks in downtown Boulder.
Ozo currently has just one location, a dark, crowded place out in east Boulder where the staff roasts the beans that owner Justin Hartman travels the world to secure. The shop has amassed something of a cult following for its single-origin espresso, high quality cups of coffee and general geekiness, which encompasses properly pulled shots and latte art.
Last year Hartman decided it was time to expand to downtown Boulder, where Ozo will reach a new crowd — and devotees who don’t live in east Boulder can get their fix more easily.
When we passed by on Saturday, an employee told us the Pearl Street shop was hoping to open in ten days. “But we’ll definitely be open by Valentine’s Day,” he said. “That’s when we’re having our grand-opening party.”
