Just in time for the holiday season, Forbes Travel Guide released its annual list of four- and five-star hotels, restaurants and spas, facilitating luxury travel planning around the U.S., Canada and, uh, China.
Just 23 restaurants made the five-star cut, and 152 eateries were granted four stars.
A handful of those places are in Colorado. The only local joint to net top honors is the Penrose Room in Colorado Springs, a jacket-required restaurant in the Broadmoor that serves up multi-course menus of continental fare in a dining room with breathtaking views. It joins the ranks of Napa’s French Laundry, Chicago’s Alinea and New York’s Jean-Georges.
