More than two dozen restaurants and Colorado wineries are taking part in Sunday’s Taste of Pearl in Boulder, a four-hour walkabout along pedestrian Pearl Street Mall that combines the three greatest past times on the planet: grazing, imbibing and shopping.

A slew of downtown Boulder businesses, including Art & Soul, Common Era, Boulder Bookstore and Starr’s Clothing, will become makeshift dining rooms for sampling foodstuffs from top restaurants like Frasca Food & Wine, Black Cat, Jax and Mateo and sipping wines from Bookcliff Vineyards, Boulder Creek Winery, Redstone Meadery and Infinite Monkey Theorem.

“As Boulder becomes known as a world-class food destination and a leader in the farm-to-table movement, now is the perfect time to host an event to let people see what we have to offer,” says Sean Maher, executive director of Downtown Boulder. “Taste of Pearl not only puts restaurants in the spotlight, but it also allows us to highlight some of downtown Boulder’s distinctive retailers and galleries, plus it’s a perfect venue for attendees to explore and support the shop/buy local movement by showcasing our state’s wonderful wineries,” he adds.

The event runs from 2 to 6 p.m. and tickets are $52.80, a portion of which will benefit the Emergency Family Assistance Association, a local non-profit that assists Boulder County families with food and shelter. To purchase tickets, go to www.boulderdowntown.com/taste-of-pearl-tickets.
