Jason Tietjen of the Dive Inn, along with some partners, bought the building at 1201 Cherokee Street, which they’re in the process of transforming into a space that will “walk that fine line between a bar and a restaurant,” he says.
“I would like to say it’s a neighborhood bar,” Tietjen adds. “We’re just going to be a Golden Triangle neighborhood bar that serves reasonably priced food and reasonably priced drinks.”

Although Dulce Vida will be more of a bar than a restaurant, with giant TVs and games, Tietjen promises that they aren’t taking taking short cuts with the food. There will be an accomplished chef in the kitchen, and a full menu will roll out in the weeks after the bar opens.
“It’ll have a little bit of everything,” Tietjen says.
