Join Plants & Animals Denver , a vegan advocacy group, for Chomp, a pop-up vegan dinner that starts at 7 p.m. tonight at the Horse Barn, 1031 33rd Street. In keeping with that setting — an old stable that’s been converted to a work space for non-profits and other do-good organizations — the dinner will have a Western theme. And vegan fare, of course. “Why vegan?” asks the group’s website. “Because the food is so good. Because it is the right thing to do. Because it is easy. Because it is empowering. We all have our reasons. Give it a try and to find your own!” See also: Chomp founder embarks on a new adventure: Nooch Vegan Market

The dinner, which is prepared by volunteers, is free, but an $8 to $10 donation is appreciated, and diners should bring their own set-ups.

The group hosts similar dinners on the first Wednesday of every month for more information and reservations, visit the Plants & Animals website.
