Two of Boulder’s successful small breweries are adding to their tasting rooms and helping to pump up the city’s already strong beer culture.
Twisted Pine Brewing Company — which was founded in 1995 and moved into its current location at 3201 Walnut Street in 2003 — will expand its production area and add to its tasting room and beer garden, says owner Bob Baile. The 12 percent expansion also includes a grain silo.
The company decided to distribute out of state for the first time last fall, and its beers are now available in Texas, Louisiana and Missouri. Future plans include Arizona and New Mexico. Eventually, Baile would like to add a bottling line. Strong sales, both from bomber bottles and at the tasting room, have been “soaring,” the brewery says
Two-year-old Asher Brewing Company, meanwhile, has leased the space next door to its spot at 4699 Nautilus Court, and plans to triple the size of its Boulder tasting room and add a full beer garden out front, says brewery co-founder Steve Turner.

“We did so much business sometimes that it has scared people off,” he says. Hopefully, the added capacity will let everyone enjoy one of the brewery’s all-organic beers. And speaking of those beers, Asher will have six rather than four beers on tap soon.
Asher will have a grand re-opening in August, he adds.
