This week, we took a final look back at some favorites — the year’s ten best new bars and the top trends — and also compiled a list of nearly 300 new restaurants, bars and specialty markets that opened in 2014. But now it’s a new year, so now we’re looking forward; Beer Man Jonathan Shikes started with a preview of ten breweries that plan to open in Denver this year.

In what may be a first in over a year, no new restaurants opened this week, but an Arvada pizza and live music joint, a vegan cafe and two locations of a biscuit baker are all closing their doors. At least Rise and Shine Biscuit Kitchen owner Seth Ruben says he’s looking for a new address where he can re-open after moving out of two Basil Doc’s locations, where Rise and Shine had shared kitchen space with the pizza maker.

CLOSING THIS WEEK* D Note (Saturday), 7519 Grandview Avenue, Arvada Nectar House, 1947 South Broadway Rise and Shine Biscuit Kitchen and Cafe, 330 Holly Street and 3930 West 32nd Avenue
