Late last week, we held a little contest, one that would bestow love on one Cafe Society reader, who, in fourteen words or less, could convince those of us jaded by all that mushy love stuff that he or she deserved to win a complimentary Valentine’s dinner for two at Mateo, one of Boulder’s best restaurants.
You pulled at our heartstrings, leaving us messages of unemployment woes, laying out marriage-proposal plans and blaming babies for screwing up your dating schedule.
The person who won, however, wrote about none of that. Instead, she wrote this:
