The Alamo Drafthouse will officially open on Monday, March 25, with a grand-opening ceremony featuring Pam Grier. But starting today and running through the weekend, the Drafthouse will be showing a series of bargain-priced films — just $2 per ticket! — including recent hits like Zero Dark Thirty and classics like Animal House, for the theater’s staff-training days. This means your waiter probably won’t know the menu much better than you do, but all the food you order off that menu (excluding alcohol) will be half-price.

And the bar will be pouring, even thought there will be no specials on alcohol. Still, the beer roster at the Glass Half Full bar is pretty impressive on its own, with 32 local beers on tap. There’s also a cocktail list with both contemporary and classic offerings.
And through this staff-training weekend, you’ll be able to order half-priced food in the theater when you go in to see a movie, or at the Glass Half Full if you just want to hang out in the bar and have a bite.
