For those with laughable love lives, or even attached couples who’d rather chuckle than go out to a swanky dinner, the Colorado Comedy Coalition is putting on a show at the Voodoo Comedy Playhouse that’s all about amour. Featuring performances by comedians Chris Miller, Kristin Rand, Willie Red, Derrick Culver, Jodee Champion and Hunter Carney, the Love & Laughter Valentine’s Comedy Show will also include free popcorn and $5 drink specials.
“Most of the comedians are going to be throwing out some relationship jokes,” says promotor Julian Sanchez, who promises that the playhouse will be decked out in Cupid-themed decor. “We just want to bring people together to have a good laugh and enjoy their Valentine’s weekend together with their significant other.”
In addition to comedy, there will be tunes from DJs Timeko T and Colorado Jones, as well as R&B performances from Tony D-Luke & Raw-Bee.
Doors to the Voodoo, 1260 22nd Street, open at 7 p.m., and the show starts at 8. Last month’s Comedy Coalition show sold out, so get your tickets, $10, in advance at www.ticketswest.com or any King Soopers store.
