Graffiti-art aficionados will agree — Street Cred, the exhibition now at the Longmont Museum, earns its title. Direct from new Longmont director Wes Jessup’s former workplace, the Pasadena Museum of California Art, it offers an in-the-moment overview of California graffiti writers, as well as a local showcase tailored in-house by the museum.

Eye-catching and innovative, Street Cred is a show worth catching before it leaves town (it ends on January 17), and the best way to see it just might be during a walk-through with Jessup, who gives an hour of his time every Tuesday throughout the show’s run to explore where graffiti art came from and where it’s headed in the future. Meet Jessup in the gallery from noon to 1 p.m.; admission is $5.

Additional events before the show’s end include an artists’ panel on the evening of January 12; get all the details at the website.
