As winter break comes to a close, four out of five parents agree that it’s way better to get out of the house than follow through on those dark urges to muzzle the next kid who whines “I’m bo-ored” one more time. There’s no need for boredom, after all, when the accommodating Denver Center Theatre Academy is hosting one of its free Target Family Fun Forum events guaranteed to bring out the shining star buried inside each and every child sitting in the midst of a pile of broken toys — not to mention the holiday-weary grownups.

Today from noon to 2 p.m. at the Tramway Building, 1101 13th Street, the DCTA offers a little bit of everything dramatic: a pinch of the Bard and an ounce of aria, with theater crafts, opportunities to learn juggling and dance moves, and more fun for all ages. Admission is free, but reservations are required; go to www.denvercenter.org or call 303-446-4892 to RSVP.
Sun., Jan. 6, 12-2 p.m., 2008
