There’ll be more art — way more art — than you can shake a mint Louis XIV walking stick at when you stop by the Gilmore Art Center, 2119 Curtis Street, where the Mile High Bargain Fine Art Fair opened yesterday for nine days of business. Hosted by Gilmore, Gallup House Fine Art and Norm Anderson Fine Art, the extravagant sale is a collector’s paradise, where you can poke your way through bins of bargain-priced drawings and prints, peruse the walls for marked-down masterpieces by American regionalists, and cruise the halls, brushing dust off of illuminated manuscripts and other hidden treasures.
Prices? Those can range anywhere from $10 to $2,500, depending on what you’re looking at, and although you can be certain that dealers snatched up a lot of good stuff at the get-go, fresh works will be added to the floor daily. Shop early and often, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, through November 17. Call 303-756-5222.
