Over the last couple of weeks, about twenty would-be contestants took a chance and submitted video auditions for Fortune Valley Hotel and Casino’s It’s Vegas, Baby! lounge act contest, which sought parodists, comedians, singers, burlesque performers, magicians and other performers of the ilk. The winner will get a gig at Fortune Valley, probably early next year, as well as a cash prize. “Some of them were pretty much America’s Got Talent,” says spokeswoman Meghan Dougherty of the contestants. “But we really do appreciate their willingness to put themselves out there.”
The top three finalists will perform live tomorrow evening at 8 p.m. at the hot-rods-&-babes fest Carnage on Larimer, which takes over three blocks of Larimer Street between 30th and 33rd streets from 1 to 10 p.m.
