Pirate: Contemporary Art pulled out all the stops while honoring its long-standing traditions on Saturday night for its thirtieth annual Day of the Dead celebration. Families with painted faces crowded into the Navajo Street co-op for all-ages piñata-bashing, altar displays, a Muertos Mart for handmade Day of the Dead goods and a candlelight procession. Photographer Kyle Huninghake documented the evening for Westword; an image sampler follows.
