There’s no shortage of “palooza”-heavy titles these days. By now the suffix should be, like, scrawled all over our cultural notebook. Adding to the frenzy is Breckenridge Resort’s Holipalooza. “It’s a way of packaging all the things we do for the holidays under one name,” says Kristen Petitt, public-relations director for the ski resort.
The fest started yesterday, but today at 5 p.m., Santa arrives at Daniel’s Cabin, 309 North Main Street, to lead a procession to the lighting of the hundred-year-old Town Tree at the Blue River Plaza. “This is our favorite time of the year in Breck — from now until the end of ski season, and the lighting signifies the beginning of that time,” says Petitt. Afterward, Jo Dee Messina caps the festivities with a performance at Main Street Station. All events are free; for more information, visit www.gobreck.com or call 1-970-453-5579.
