There’s not much that’s Victorian about tonight’s Victorian Fetish Ball. There’s nothing repressed or prudish about the erotic party, and you’re more likely to see bare flesh than you are ankle-length skirts. (If it’s anything like past events, however, you’ll see corsets – lots of ’em.) Now in its twelfth year, the sensual soiree will feature an array of sexy, theatrical performances that range from Japanese rope bondage to erotic ballet. And don’t worry about regrets: Founder Kevin Larson says the ball is for people who want to “see a lot of crazy things and push their envelope a little bit, but not get up in the morning and worry about losing their job, their marriage or their political aspirations.”
Whether you’re creating outfits out of cotton candy, getting a naughty balloon animal or enjoying the yes, legal nudity, the Fetish Ball has plenty to offer for anyone interested in provocative, erotic fun. “My job is to create an atmosphere of excitement and sensuality,” explains Larson, “so that once the party is over, you can’t wait to get home and increase your romance with your girlfriend, husband, boyfriend or wife.” The foreplay starts tonight at 9 p.m. at the Diamond Cabaret, 1222 Glenarm Street; tickets are $39 for ladies and $69 for men pre-sale, and go up $15 the day of the ball.
