Loveland Ski Area has come a long way since 1937, and we want to thank our customers for supporting us through the years,” says Rob Goodell, director of business operations at the mountain, long a locals’ favorite among Front Range skiers and snowboarders. Loveland, the second-oldest ski area in Colorado, celebrates its official anniversary today with $37 lift tickets and $75 lesson packages, among other discounts.

Lunch is on the house for season-pass holders, and free hot chocolate, coffee and birthday cake will be served to all guests in the base lodge. The Loveland Sport Shop will also be selling limited-edition 75th-anniversary skis from Denver-based Icelantic Skis that feature a tribute to Loveland’s retro logo by artist Travis Parr.

Ski-area spokesman John Sellers recommends sampling the Pine Bough Pale Ale and picking up a commemorative pint glass at the après party; the brewers from Tommyknocker in Idaho Springs, who will be on hand for the party, collected pine needles from Loveland for the concoction, a special 75th-anniversary drink being served in the base area’s Rathskeller Bar all season.
