Poor Scooter Brightman. As host of Lannie’s Clocktower Cabaret’s Celebrity Spelling Bee and Quiz Show, the extravagant Irishman (the alter ego of Jefferson Arca, Lannie’s general manager) has to hold his own among local celebrities, burlesque girls and audience members. They’re all matching wits starting at 7 p.m., hoping to score tonight’s $50 grand prize. To test his meddle, we had him define a few words from the Scripps National Spelling Bee:

Zoilus: “Something that reminds you of zoy.”

Vituline: “It’s the generic Vaseline for tree huggers in Boulder.”

Videlicet: “It means when you make love to a woman without even touching her. You’ve just made videlicet.”
