The First Friday gallery extravaganza is tonight, and if you have a tendency to arrive on Santa Fe a little late to get your fill of cutting-edge art and culture, as I do, this time you have an excuse to get started late. Art in the City will hold a fashion edition of its “First Friday After Hours Party” that won’t start until 9 p.m., and will run until 1 a.m. at Cluster Studios, 3881 Steele Street, Unit B.
This month’s event is a collaboration between Idée-Force, the usual host of Art in the City events, and Fashion Denver. The runway will feature work by nine local designers — including Mona Lucero, Funklectic, Eden Ink and Crystal Sharp, amongst others — alongside a fashion photography showcase of work by Jeff Navarro, Nicole Popovich, Jeff Haas, Kelly Shrouds and Sara Ford.
For a suggested $5 donation at the door, attendees can nosh on food from Gourmet Fine Catering while sampling drinks from two bars. Fair warning, though, so that party-goers truly blend into this trés chic event, Art in the City encourages everyone to dress up. For more information, visit www.artinthecitydenver.com. – Aubrey Shoe
