The Brood at Crash 45 (Tuesday) Crash 45 is the place to be on the first Tuesday of every month this summer. Bloodthirsty Theresa’s Cruel Summer horror series continues tonight with The Brood, an eerie David Cronenberg flick that has it all: violent mutant children, a wife in an insane asylum, and tons of creepy scenes. The screening is free; film-appropriate food and drinks are extra.

Independence Eve Celebration at Civic Center Park (Wednesday) Pack a picnic and head to Civic Center Park for one of the city’s great annual traditions: pre-Fourth of July fireworks. The Colorado Symphony will provide patriotic tunes for this evening out in the park. 4th of July BBQ at the Sidewinder (Thursday) Listen to soul, rock and funk tunes from DJ Barracuda while you celebrate America at the Sidewinder’s Independence Day barbecue. The party is free; for $7 you can get two street tacos, a side dish and a domestic beer.
