A couple of weeks back, I was feeling particularly nostalgic for the Iberian peninsula, where I once wandered winding streets, ambling from tapas bar to tapas bar until I’d eaten enough to make a full dinner. It was a perfect way to dine — and a perfect way to taste the flavors that comprise the Spanish canon.

So I started exploring Denver’s Spanish restaurants — which took me to the 9th Door.

The restaurant, which opened six years ago in the heart of LoDo, took its inspiration from the tapas bar concept, offering a board of hot and cold tapas. At the bar one night, tucked away at a table in the corner another, I ate my way through the list, building feasts of small plates that I washed down with carafes of sangria.

Did I find the taste of Spain I hungered for? Find out tomorrow when the review is posted here.
