Broncos? What Broncos?

Colorado Rockies season officially begins today, on the day after the pathetic (yet strangely exciting — near the end, anyway) Denver Broncos closed out their worst year in history with a 4-12 record, no coach and a huge number of problems.

So what better timing, then, for the story that just appeared in the Denver Post revealing that Rockies super-slugger Carlos Gonzalez has signed a long-term deal with the team — something that many people thought would be impossible given the Rockies’ history of letting high-priced free agents go and because CarGo’s agent is the notorious Scott Boras.

This news (if true), coming on the heels of the renewed contracts of Troy Tulowitzki and Jorge De la Rosa, means that Denver sports fans have at least something to look forward to soon.
