A recent Comment of the Day prompted by Jordan Coombs’s lawsuit, filed after he says he was sickened by a pot edible at the Denver County Fair, suggested that the assorted illnesses mentioned in the post could have arisen as a result of a placebo effect. After its appearance, we heard from Coombs, who utterly rejects this notion.

I feel like you could reach out to the plaintiffs in the comment of the day to get their reaction. The whole idea of this being a placebo effect and that all these people from different walks of life with absolutely nothing in common all coming up with “placebo” symptoms is laughable.Perhaps the simplest explanation is the correct one — a small group of people attended the fair, received THC chocolate and ended up in the hospital.
