Back in September, we wondered if Nuggets J.R. Smith, Wilson Chandler and Kenyon Martin might win a championship in China, where they’d opted to play due to NBA labor strife. Given the increasing likelihood of a lost season, this plan looked smart, and it could still be — although Smith’s team, the Zhejiang Golden Bulls, may disagree. That’s because J.R. injured his knee in his first game.
At this point, it’s unclear how serious an injury Smith sustained. According to Yahoo! Sports, Smith’s dad doesn’t think it’s a season-ender. Judge for yourself based on the clip of the incident below.
