They’ve paid $140 million and then some for their team. When they travel to other parks since they erased the curse of the Bambino in 2004, bandwagon fans make up anywhere from a third to half of the crowd. Even when their team isn’t playing, you can find Sox fans in any Major League ballpark in the country (and Toronto) sporting their Sox gear like Hells Angels sporting their colors. Red Sox fans will chant “Yankees Suck,” at a Cubs-Cardinals game in St. Louis. I, for one, am getting pretty sick of the Bloody Sox, and I don’t think I’m alone.
