Gorinto, the Mercury Cafe’s weekly Wednesday night get-together, will shake things up tonight with the Communikey Showcase, which will offer a taste of the Boulder-based electronic-arts festival, celebrating its fifth year in April.

Like all Gorinto throwdowns, the emphasis is on local art and artists, a community atmosphere open to all ages, and delicious, vegetarian-friendly food. Tonight’s gathering also aims to give those unfamiliar with the massive festival a good look at what Communikey is all about.

“With all of our [Communikey] events, we try to have a spectrum of styles and ideas that speak to our roots in electronic music,” say co-organizer Kate Lesta, adding that tonight’s lineup — which includes Pillow Garden, Ten and Tracer, Young Pharaohs and Tony V — is a nice cross-section of visual artists, live electronic acts and DJs.

As always, Gorinto is a $5 cover and $5 for the buffet. Doors to the Merc, 2199 California Street, open at 8 p.m. and music starts shortly thereafter. For more on Gorinto, go to www.mercurycafe.com; for more information on the Communikey Festival of Electronic Arts, happening April 25-29, visit www.communikey.us.
