In a win for the sustainability argument, the second annual Green Route “Eco-Music” Festival has doubled in size this year, taking up twice as much RiNo Arts District real estate for the day and attracting more than 75 of Colorado’s most eco-minded vendors.
“It’s been really exciting to see how quickly this movement has grown,” says Green Route founder Jennie Nevin. “We literally have twice as many vendors this year, and more bands, and we’ll have live artists and fire dancers and all kinds of new things going on to help create awareness and buzz around what’s happening in our community.”
The festival features Odell beer, food trucks and performances by the Swayback, the Pirate Signal, Flashlights, the Boulder Acoustic Society, Common Ties, Fingers of the Sun, Alex Stone, Petals of Spain, Super Vision and DJ Cavem Moetavation.
And be sure to pick up a free Green Route Pass. Nevin says she hopes to distribute 10,000 of the passes, which get you deep discounts on everything from B-cycle and E-Go Carshare memberships to Botanic Gardens entry and deals at the eighteen businesses featured on this year’s Green Route map.

“Consumers are really developing close ties with sustainable local businesses,” Nevin says. “I think these new Green Route passes are going to help deepen those relationships at a time when the local economy needs sustainability more than ever.”
