We have good news and bad news for you: Due to house producer and DJ Kenny Hawkes’s recent unexpected death, Matt Edwards (aka Radio Slave) will not be making his scheduled appearance at the Afterhours Anonymous/Mahesh Presents event this Saturday, as originally planned; Edwards and Hawkes were good friends, and as the memorial service will be held in the U.K. on July 4, he regretfully had to cancel this gig.
So that’s the bad news. Here’s the good news: Edwards does intend to reschedule as soon as possible; we’ll keep you posted as soon as we hear details.
Spectrum will still take place this weekend as planned; there will be adult refreshments a food truck outside, longer sets by Jimmy Maheras and DJ Sense, and Ty Tek has been added to the lineup (playing a tag-team set with Sense, at that!). Also on hand will be Tony Rodelli, Sean Michaels and Tommy Gray.
And if you purchased a presale ticket to the party at the Radio Slave price of $15 to $20 (prices have been dropped to $10 in advance and $15 at the door after this development), you’ll get into the next AAMP event for free.
